The ALU is a lightweight transport wheelchair with a chrome-plated aluminium frame, designed to be pushed by a carer. At only 9 kg it is easy to lift, and it folds – with a partially folding backrest – for storage and transport in a car.
Inflated rear tyres give a softer ride over uneven ground, while brakes on the rear wheels and separate attendant brakes on the handles give safe control. Fixed sides, a calf support strap and folding footrests keep the user secure and comfortable.
