The airway is a curved piece of plastic inserted over the tongue that creates an air passageway between the mouth and the posterior pharyngeal wall.

The airway is a curved piece of plastic inserted over the tongue that creates an air passageway between the mouth and the posterior pharyngeal wall.

The airways are color coded to help recognize the sizes; the length of the tube is marked on the airway with a number.
The flange limits the depth of insertion -so can’t accidentally lose the tube in patient's airway.
The reinforced bite block prevents occlusion of the airway by clenching of the teeth.
The rigid construction is kink resistant.
