The Aspen Vista TLSO is a thoracolumbosacral orthosis designed mainly for use after surgery. Its front, back and two side panels support the trunk at the thoracolumbar junction and limit its movement, which helps to reduce pain.

It has three parts: a lumbar belt, a back thoracolumbar panel and a front panel with an aluminium bar and sternal pad. A pulley system with two cords sets the compression, and two straps over or under the shoulders hold the trunk still.

Indications

  • Conservative treatment of stable (non-displaced) wedge, burst and compression fractures of the thoracolumbar spine
  • After anterior or posterior spinal fusion and spondylectomy (T4–T12, T11–L3)
  • After multilevel transthoracic pedicle resection (T8–T12)
  • Degenerative disc disease, bulging or herniated disc
  • Spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, kyphosis and spondylosis

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the materials, if you have lymphatic swelling caused by circulatory problems, or if your doctor has said you must not wear a brace. Use only on medical advice; the first fitting should be done by a specialist.

Front, back and side panels

Rigid panels hold the trunk at the thoracolumbar junction and limit movement, to reduce pain.

Pulley compression

Two cords tighten the lumbar area – upper and lower parts separately, as the doctor decides.

Sternal pad on aluminium bar

The ergonomic sternal pad sits on an adjustable aluminium bar that can be bent for a precise fit.

Height adjustment

The back panel adjusts in preset steps; the front panel adjusts at the sternum and abdomen.

Two shoulder straps

Adjustable straps under the arms or over the shoulders help to keep the trunk still.

Comfortable foam lining

Hypoallergenic, antibacterial foam on the lumbar and front panels; extra side panels and spare parts included.
