The DARCO OrthoWedge™ is designed to reduce weight-bearing pressure on the forefoot, to support healing after surgery, trauma or when wounds or ulcerations are present under the metatarsal heads and toes.
Its wedge sole shifts the load towards the heel and naturally encourages fewer, shorter steps, while still allowing the patient to walk when necessary. According to DARCO, used alone it reduces forefoot pressure by as much as 57% and peak pressure under the great toe by as much as 75%.
